| When I was a little boy I looked into the pages of Martial Arts Magazines and wondered if I could ever be in one. Now some 20 years later Tiger Claw and Kungfu Taichi Magazine has given me an opportunity to not only be featured in their magazine with a new feature article "Jump High, Fall Safely", but to also create an exciting new series of DVD's for martial artists and enthusiasts alike! A lot of thought went into this project and I hope everyone can enjoy the result. Special thanks to everyone on this page and also to my students Sebastian and Augie for helping demonstrate some moves! Check them out here! |

| Hey everyone been awhile since updating but things have been very busy! I just came home from teaching abroad and already completed filming a 2 Part DVD Series with Tiger Claw covering Wushu Jumps and Falling techniques. Also a new version of this site is going to be arriving along with an expanded E-STORE! Keep up to date and check back often! TIME TO TRAVEL October 19th, 2010 So for some updates, this November I will be travelling overseas to Ireland, Holland & Belgium to lead a series of workshops for martial arts enthusiasts. Seminar topics include, Three section staff, Bullwhip, Wushu jumping and more! For more information or to register check out the Calendar section. GONGFU ZHI XING September 26th, 2010 Four years ago this month I took part in an amazing experience that changed my life. I am very grateful to have had this opportunity and to have made many new friends as a result. Please take a look and enjoy the memory. With an estimated 300 million viewers, K-STAR or Gongfu zhi Xing was considered China's largest scale reality television program. 36 Martial Artists were selected from a previous 100,000 applicants hailing from six Chinese cities and Five International venues to search for the next martial arts action hero. WALKING TALL TOURNAMENT September 7th, 2010 My families school South Coast Martial Arts will be hosting a Tournament Saturday, October 23rd featuring divisions for Karate, Wushu, Kungfu, Internal and Grappling. Registration is only $25 for one division and $35 for unlimited, awards will be given to the top three competitors in their respective events and proceeds will go to fund the Walking Tall Foundations scholarship program. In addition to competitors we are also looking for volunteers to help referee, coordinate and judge. For more info click here! AMERICA'S GOT TALENT In case you missed it, Kungfu Heroes performed live last week in America's Got Talent Hollywood round. For us the road ends here but special thanks to everyone who supported the journey. Your efforts and feedback were amazing, and it was a wonderful platform for us to show America what we love doing best. LEGENDS CAMP UPDATES June 27th, 2010 So with the end of the weekend the 2010 Summer Camp came to a close, I want to extend a special thanks to all the teachers and participants who made this year's camp one of the best yet! Check out one of the videos here CCTV 6 Olympic Film Report COMPETITION IN WUDANG MOUNTAIN January 8th, 2009 Tournament Results from Third Traditional Wushu Festival are in! My super students from the OC along with my very own sister met up with me in China and earned top rankings in their respective events taking home Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. I personally earned Silver medals in both Shaolin Fist and Flexible Weapons. I've been out of practice since tour haha. Congrats to Augie, Raymond, Sam & Nicole! The film document's the creation of a cross cultural dance for the Japanese Saito Homa Festival (Purification of the world ceremony) held at Shinnoy-en temple last year. The piece is also entered into the category best short documentary! Wish me luck haha April 8th SUMMER TRAINING CAMP Ready to train, and train hard? As this year closes I feel a big appreciation to all the people I've met and all the things I was able to accomplish. From the Long Beach Arena, Staples Center, Germany, Beijing & Shenzhen... I feel I have come to an understanding about practice and what it means to have a friend by your side. To all my friends, thank you for your help and support! China's "Disciple" TV SHOW Past weeks have been busy with demos and rigorous training making the final preparations for Jackie Chan's "Disciple" Competition. I will be leaving Monday the 11th opening ceremony is to be held on the 15th in Beijing.
December 2nd "Legend of The Seven Elements" November 15th "Holiday Updates!" From China's Shenzhen and Hong Kong TV stations back to the Red carpets of Hollywood! l have kept busy these past months and have taken a lot of time to reflect on my future and meet many new friends... Last night I attended the Red Carpet of the Asian Film Festival in Hollywood and also performed in the welcoming gathering for the overseas honorees. Amongst the guests in attendance was Jackie Chan's son "Fang zuming" Star of Iron Monkey "Yu Rongguang" and a host of other famous director people's. Very fun! Pictures and stuff soon to follow. October 30th "Secret EMC stuff" I just finished shooting my part in a new team sampler for the famed martial arts stunt group EMC. This marks the first team sampler since about 2006 and should be one worth checking out after it finishes production =D October 28th "Adventures in China" I just finished a trip to meet up with some old overseas friends and check out this years Kungfu Star competition (held by Shenzhen TV) the time proved to be a great opportunity for me to branch out and establish new friends in the Chinese film community. Now that I am back home expect a short rest followed by some noise =D Oh did I mention I got to meet Action stars and directors Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa & Stanley Tong? Philip visits the 2007 Global Kungfu Star Competition September 18th "Seclusion" I've decided to take it upon myself to enter a training seclusion in preparation for Jackie Chan's Disciple Contest. Be on the look for many exciting new things to come and hopefully much change in the coming months... July 30th 2007 "Legend of the Seven Elements" Mark your calendars! On Aug. 25th & Sep. 1st SCMA will be hosting its 4th annual theatrical martial arts performance and fundraiser entitled "Legend of the Seven Elements." The show will be highlighted be numerous rare traditional and contemporary skills demonstrated by both prominent and upcoming local talent... to masters from far as Shaolin and Wudang Mountain... Anime Expo Show 07, Jackie Chan's Disciple Video as well as some past events have all been posted... expect more surprises for the near future... Comic con 07 also finished off this last week, highlighted by the Jing Institute's featured show "Pirates vs. Ninja." July 5th 2007 "Ninja vs. Pirates" The Anime Expo Show was held this past weekend inside the Long Beach Arena as the featured event of the 2007 AX masquerade. The show was received warmly by the crowd of over 9,000 and proved to be an amazing experience both for performers and spectators alike. A special thanks and appreciation to all those who attended. June 29th 2007 "Anime Expo" This upcoming weekend I will be performing during the night show at Anime Expo 2007! I'll be there all 4 days along with friends EMC and the Jing Institute to meet and greet June 17th 2007 "Jackie!" So I competed alongside fellow martial arts brother Xin Wuku of EMC in Jackie Chan's "Disciple" Contest North American Finals and came out as one of the finalists. I will be making my fourth trip to China in September... this time I've been selected to show my stuff to Jackie Chan and see if I can be crowned one of his "10 descendants of the Dragon" Wish me luck and check out the videos soon to follow... May 31st 2007 "The Disciple" Martial Arts Superstar Jackie Chan is launching a new reality show in China called, "Disciple" In hopes of finding his next successors and creating new action stars. The contest will test your martial arts, acting, acrobatics Camera personality and more... Over 100,000 contestants world wide have already signed up. Including me! I like those odds! ^_^ May 7th 2007 "Guten Tag!" I just returned from Germany were I took part in the Shaolin Martial Arts Charity Cup held in Senden. I took home first place in fist form, first place in the specialty category and second in flexible weapons... yeah it was a bit of an off day =[ Overall the trip was nice and I also got to check out some tourist locations in Ulm & Munich. Much thanks to Shifu Christian Kronmuller and all my new German and European friends! Much respect and best wishes... March 1st 2007 "MTV" Just finished a day of crazy costumes and stunting with martial arts partners EMC. We recently filmed a new commercial for VIMS "a mobile cell phone company" & MTV Germany... the shoot lasted three days and judging by what we had to wear can't wait to get hands on the video! |
